Weeks 37 & 38!

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!

Happy Summer vacation! Jr. Kindergarten spent the last few weeks of school honoring/pampering our moms, reviewing everything we've learned and preparing for Kindergarten!

Thank you to all of the Mom's and Grandma's that came and experienced our 1st Annual Mother's Day Spa! I hope you enjoyed your pampering as much as the students enjoyed doing it! We had so much fun!

A HUGE thank you to all of my students, parents and grandparents that helped to make my first year at St. John's so amazing! I have fallen in love with my job and am so excited to spend my teaching career with such awesome students, families and coworkers! Good Luck to the smartest 4 and 5 year olds I know! I cannot wait to see how much you grow between now and August. See next school year!!

What a great last few weeks we've been having! The Jr. Kindergarten students are now proud parents of 5 beautiful Painted Lady butterflies!!

We have also been reviewing all that we have learned this year, in preparation for the big move upstairs! Our friends have been practicing our counting, letters, cutting and have been busy learning our phone numbers and addresses! We are so very ready for Kindergarten!

Please come celebrate the hard work of the Drama Club by coming to their final performance of The Tale of Snow White this Friday, May 4th at 7 pm in the Munier Center. The students have been practicing so hard all year!

*Good Luck to our Jr. K actors:

Oh how the time (butter)flies!

Jr. Kindergarten is entering our last 3 week unit, and then we'll be ready for Kindergarten!

Jr. K spent this last week finishing up our unit growing and changing. We also observed our classroom butterflies when they changed into chrysalis'! We cannot wait to see the beautiful butterflies when they hatch!

Our little caterpillars! *Spike, Cutie, Annie. Anne-Marie and T-Rex!

Our butterflies have turned into Chrysalis'! So neat to watch them wiggle around!

week 31!

Life is Worth the Living, just because He LIVES!

Happy Easter!
Jr. Kindergarten had a wonderful time learning all about Easter and the resurrection! We even got the chance to dye our own eggs and make Easter baskets out of milk jugs!

After Easter Break we will finish up our unit on Growing and Changing. Our class just received our caterpillar larva for our butterfly garden, so we will be observing and learning as our creepy crawlers become beautiful butterflies!

Here we are dying our Easter Eggs!

 Group 2!

Week 29 & 30!

Jr. Kindergarten has been so busy learning about Growing and Changing, life cycles of different animals and the importance of Easter that we missed a week posting! Oops :) With only 32 days left of school (can you believe it??) Jr. Kindergarten is almost ready to Graduate! We have learned all but 3 letters, how to count to 100, counting by 10's and 5's, our money and so much more!

This quarter we are working our earning our Driver's Licenses! Once our students learn their address, phone number and eye color, they can take their "driving test" with scissors. If they can cut on the tricky black lines, then they've earned their very first License!

Here we are making our different patterns with manipulative's!

Week 28!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Jr. Kindergarten had so much learning about Saint Patrick and leprechauns this week! The students know all about Saint Patrick and his great spreading of the word in Ireland, as well as how mischievous leprechaun's can be. One even visited our school! He lost his shoe in our room, so we set traps to try and catch! But we didn't get him, but he did leave us his pot of gold!

We also participated in the Shamrock Flock Lap-a-Thon! Our students did so great, we did 11 laps together as a team! Don't forget to keep getting those pledges, all the money will go towards our charity fundraiser!

Here we are after we found his pot of gold!!

Our snack for the day, "Leprechaun Food"!
